We are eagerly awaiting Easter, as it usually means Spring is here and everyone is always eggcited about that! Holidays are the perfect time to bring a little magic into the house with crafts, activities or decorations that will leave your kids with a big ole smile on their faces.  We know how busy life gets, so we've rounded up some pretty easy activities that we are sure you can put together in no time as you prepare for Easter.

 

Magical Jelly Bean Garden

Last year we made these for the first time and the magical experience did not disappoint.  The thing I love most about this activity is how easy it is to do with mostly stuff you have on hand.  You could also go plant the jelly beans outside in a flower bed in the yard and replace them with suckers the morning. I don't know about you but anything that gets my kids excited about bedtime is a win :) Plus, we designed a cute little printable to add to your jelly beans from the Easter Bunny himself!

Here's what you'll need:

• A bowl or container to put the magical jelly beans in
• Sugar
• Green Easter Grass
• Lollipops and any other treats your kids would like

Instructions:

1. Pour sugar into your container a little over hallway up.

2. Spread the green grass over top of the sugar.

3. Give your kids the jelly beans and use the free printable below. Let your kids plant the magically jelly beans right before bed and make sure they know the beans won't grow unless the go to sleep right away :)

4.  When kids are finally sound asleep drink wine...(wait I mean)...take the jelly beans out and in their place stick into the suger lollipops or whatever other tall candy you would like or have on hand.  I know my kids would be excited if it was just a bunch of Dum Dum's so don't complicate it.

5.  Soak in all the excitement and smiles in the morning when they see their garden of treats!

Dollar Store Egg Garland

This egg garland could not be any easier or cheaper! All you need are a couple bags of plastic Easter eggs and some fishing wire and you're ready to craft.  This wouldn't be fun with my little kids, but I would imagine some girls and boys a little bit older than my crew would have lots of fun stringing these eggs together! Plus, this garland can be reused year after year or take it apart if you need some more eggs for the Easter egg hunt :) 

 

Here's what you'll need:

• Plastic Eggs (from anywhere but we got ours at the Dollar Store) just make sure the eggs you pick have little holes on each end
• Fishing Wire
• A needle if preferred, but I just strung mine without one pretty easily only using the fishing wire

Instructions: 

1. Gather up any helpers and then you just start stringing the fishing wire through the little holes that are on each end of the plastic egg.

2. Measure or eyeball the area where you will be hanging the garland so you know the length.  I used about three bags to go the length of my mantle, but it just will depend on your needs.

3. When finished cut the wire and tie a knot on each end and voila instant Easter décor! 

Peeps Rice Krispy Bundt Cake

I am always on board for a dessert that doesn't involve the oven and the kids can help with...who's with me? This is definitely one of my go to desserts because the kids of course love it, but secretly so do the adults too :) Random fact, my son will not eat chocolate so rice krispie treats have become the default treat around our house. This bundt cake can be decorated for just about any holiday so here is my take on Easter!

 

Here's what you'll need:

• Rice Krispies Cereal
• Marshmallows
• Butter
• White Chocolate Chips
• Sprinkles
• Peeps

Instructions:

1. First make the Rice Krispies in a bowl following the recipe off the box, or use your regular go to recipe.

2. Once you have the Rice Krispies mixture, butter your bundt cake pan and transfer the mixture into your pan.  Let cool for 20-30 minutes.

3. Flip over the bundt pan and gently get the rice krispie cake onto a tray. 

4. Heat up your white chocolate chips, I usually just use the microwave.  The amount is really up to you. I tend to use about half the bag. 

5. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top of the cake with a spoon and make sure to add the sprinkles before the chocolate dries.

6.  Use the leftover white chocolate to put on the back of the Peep bunnies to help them stick to the sides of the cake.

7. Enjoy!!
